Write your first .mcfunction

Prefer to write commands yourself? MiniBench is a real code editor for Minecraft — it highlights your syntax, knows the commands, and catches mistakes before you export.

  1. Create a function file

In your project's functions folder, tap + → Function (.mcfunction) and give it a name. That name is how you'll call it in-game: a file at functions/manor.mcfunction runs as /function manor.
  2. Type with autocomplete

Start typing and MiniBench suggests commands, selectors, and arguments that actually exist in Bedrock — so you're not guessing at syntax or hunting a wiki.
  3. Read the signature bar

A signature bar shows the current command's arguments and overloads as you go, and live validation flags unknown commands or unbalanced brackets and quotes right in the gutter.
  4. Drop in a snippet

Don't want to write everything by hand? The snippet library drops in ready-made structures and command patterns you can tweak — a fast way to learn what good commands look like.
