Tutorial 8 steps ~5 minutes iPad
Your first pack: blank → in-game
Go from an empty project to your own creation standing in Minecraft — the whole round trip. You'll build a small house called Redstone Manor, export it, and run it in your world.
Before you start
- · MiniBench installed on your iPad
- · Minecraft Bedrock Edition installed on the same iPad
-
Create your first project
Open MiniBench and tap New Project. Name it Redstone Manor, keep the default Minecraft version, and tap Create. MiniBench scaffolds a valid pack for you — a manifest.json, a pack icon, and a functions folder — so you're ready to build right away. -
Build your house
Add a new .mcfunction in the functions folder (we called ours manor). A handful of fill and setblock commands lay down walls, a floor, a doorway, and windows — and MiniBench's autocomplete and live validation keep every command correct as you type.
Prefer not to write commands? The House Builder generates a complete house from a few taps instead. (House Builder is part of MiniBench Pro.) -
Export as a .mcpack
Tap Export. MiniBench validates your pack and packages it as a .mcpack — the single file Minecraft knows how to open. -
Open in Minecraft
The iOS share sheet slides up. Tap Minecraft, and your pack is handed straight to the game — no files to move by hand. -
Minecraft imports your pack
Minecraft launches and imports Redstone Manor automatically. You'll see an “Import started” banner, then it's ready to use. -
Activate it on a world
This is the step most people miss. Create or edit a world, open Behavior Packs, find Redstone Manor under Available, and tap Activate. Turn on Cheats in the same settings so you can run the function. -
Run it in-game
Jump into the world, open the chat, and type /function manor. Minecraft recognizes the function from your pack — you'll see it in the autocomplete — so send it. -
Your build appears
Redstone Manor built! You just went from a blank project to a structure standing in your world — created on your iPad, running in Minecraft. That's the whole loop.
That's it — you shipped a pack.
Every pack you make follows this same path: build in MiniBench, export, open in Minecraft, activate, run. From here, try the House Builder, fill a chest, or write your own commands.
