Sumdrop: Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Sumdrop ("the App") is developed by iColasoft. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, why, and your choices.

The short version: Sumdrop has no ads, no accounts, and no tracking. Your games and statistics stay on your device. To fix bugs and improve the game, the App sends anonymous crash reports and basic gameplay statistics, which are not linked to you and never used for advertising.

2. Data Collection

2.1 Personal Information

Sumdrop does not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, or any other personal information. There is no sign-up or login.

2.2 Gameplay Statistics

Sumdrop uses Google Firebase Analytics to record a small, fixed set of anonymous gameplay events: for example, a stage started or cleared (with its stage number, score and how many hints and adds were used), a game over, a Daily Puzzle completed (with the streak length), a hint used, the hint or tip screen shown, a purchase made or failed (with the product identifier), and the tutorial completed.

Firebase Analytics also records a few events automatically: when the App is first opened, when a session starts, and when an in-app purchase is completed (with the product, its price and currency). These are anonymous in the same way as the events above, and are used only to understand how the App is used.

Firebase also records basic technical details with these events, such as the app version, iOS version, device model, language and approximate country (estimated from your IP address, which is not stored), together with a random app-instance identifier generated by Firebase. This identifier is not your name or Apple ID, is not shared with other apps, and is not used to track you across apps or websites. Advertising identifier (IDFA) collection is turned off, and the App contains no advertising.

2.3 Crash Reports

Sumdrop uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to receive reports when the App crashes or hits an unexpected error. A report contains technical information only: what the App was doing when the problem occurred (such as the current stage and game mode), the app and iOS versions, the device model, and a random installation identifier. Crash reports never include your name or contact details.

2.4 Always On

Crash reports and gameplay statistics are part of how we keep the App working well, so they are sent whenever the App is used and cannot be switched off in the App. They are anonymous as described above. If you prefer not to send any data, please don't use the App.

2.5 Your Games

Your games in progress, Daily Puzzle history, statistics, and settings are stored only on your device. We never receive them.

3. Purchases

Sumdrop offers optional in-app purchases (hint packs and tips). All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, credit card, or Apple ID. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

So that hints you buy aren't lost if you reinstall the App or use another device, your purchased-hint balance may be stored in your own iCloud account using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. We cannot access your iCloud data.

4. Third-Party Services

Sumdrop does not include advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. The only data leaving your device is the anonymous information in Section 2, processed by Google Firebase on our behalf, and purchase information handled by Apple.

6. Data Retention

Firebase keeps analytics data for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically. Data on your device is removed when you delete the App.

7. Children's Privacy

Sumdrop is a puzzle game suitable for all ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The anonymous data in Section 2 is not used to identify or contact any user.

8. Your Rights

Because the data we receive is anonymous and not linked to you, we cannot look up, export, or delete data for a particular person. If you have a question or request about your data, contact us at the address below and we will help where we can.

9. Website Analytics (icolasoft.com)

This section applies to the icolasoft.com website (including these Sumdrop pages), which is separate from the App. The website uses Google Analytics only after you opt in through the cookie banner; if you decline, it is never loaded. IP addresses are anonymized. See Google's Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
