The /spreadplayers command
Teleport players to random spots around a center point — perfect minigame scatter.
What it does
/spreadplayers drops your targets at random positions within a radius, never too close together. It’s the classic start of a survival game, a hide-and-seek round, or any match where you don’t want everyone stacked on one pad.
Syntax
spreadplayers <x> <z> <spreadDistance> <maxRange> <victim> - x z
- Center of the scatter area (Y is chosen by the ground).
- spreadDistance
- Minimum blocks between any two players.
- maxRange
- How far from center players may land.
- victim
- Who to scatter — usually @a.
Examples
spreadplayers 0 0 10 50 @a Scatter everyone within 50 blocks of spawn, 10+ apart.
spreadplayers ~ ~ 5 30 @a[tag=hider] Scatter only the hiders around you.
Watch out for
- · spreadDistance must be smaller than maxRange, or the command fails.
- · Players land on the surface — great outdoors, messier in a cave or void.
- · Use ~ ~ to scatter around wherever the command runs from.
Write it in MiniBench with autocomplete and live validation, then run it in Minecraft.
